The NACA proudly overseas three standing programs that are in
place to help our members.
THE
MARK NICHOLS MEMORIAL CRISIS FUND
After the tragic death of Mark Nichols the NACA established a crisis fund. The loss drove home the cold reality that members of the NACA endure unforeseen hardships. The Mark Nichols Crisis Fund gratefully consists solely of donations. During the unfortunate times when this fund has been called upon important financial aid has been provided to members during their crisis. To make a donation, send check
payable to:
JOAN
HARMS DISMUKE MEMORIAL AWARD This memorial award was established in memory of Joan Harms Dismuke, long time Corriente breeder and exhibitor, who passed away February 5, 2001. The award is designed to encourage young Corriente members to develop their knowledge of the Corriente breed. At the NACA National Shows, a special judging competition is held for youth 13 and under. Participants judge two classes: a pen of four yearling bulls and a performance class of four team roping animals. Each participant places each class and gives oral reasons for their placings. Participants can enter each year in the judging competition without cost. A
trophy belt buckle is awarded to the top scoring individual in this judging
competition.
"CORRIENTE CLYDE" YOUTH DUMMY ROPING FUND
One of Clyde's many passions was the enjoyment he got from watching and encouraging youngsters to participate in Youth Dummy Ropings at our shows. This fund was created in his name so that excellent trophy belt buckles would always be awarded at NACA National Shows to the roping champions. Each year the fund provides two outstanding buckles for kids who participate in Dummy Roping. Association funds are not used for this program, it is funded solely by donations. To make a donation send a check to NACA and designate it for the "Corriente Clyde" Edmondson Youth Roping Fund. NACA
